Experience the authentic, spiritually revered scent of Somali Frankincense (Boswellia carterii). Traditionally used in sacred rituals, it clears the mind for deep meditation while acting as a powerful respiratory purifier to ease congestion and cleanse the air. Connects you to millennia of ceremonial tradition. A cornerstone of spiritual and wellness practices.
Somali Frankincense essential oil is steam-distilled from the oleo-gum-resin of Boswellia trees, primarily Boswellia carterii and Boswellia sacra, which grow in the arid, rocky regions of Somalia and Somaliland. This region is one of the world's oldest and most revered sources of true frankincense. Somali Frankincense oil is characterized by a clean, bright, fresh, and elevating aroma—often described as a harmonious blend of pine, lemon, and balsamic-resinous notes with a crisp, almost meditative quality. It is considered the archetypal frankincense scent in modern aromatherapy and perfumery.
A premier oil for supporting clear breathing and respiratory health. Its potent antiseptic and expectorant properties help clear congestion, ease coughs, and soothe the respiratory tract. Highly effective in steam inhalation during colds, flu, or allergy season.
Promotes cellular regeneration and wound healing. Valued for reducing the appearance of scars, fine lines, and blemishes, and for toning mature or damaged skin. Its astringent properties help tighten and clarify the complexion.
While all frankincense oils share this property, Somali Frankincense is especially revered for reducing inflammation in muscles and joints, making it excellent in massage blends for arthritis, rheumatism, or post-exercise recovery.
Its clear, elevating scent has been used for millennia in sacred ceremonies, meditation, and prayer. It quiets the mind, reduces stress and anxiety, enhances focus, and promotes a profound sense of peace, grounding, and spiritual connection.
Its cleansing and immune-modulating properties make it a staple in protective diffuser blends during winter months or times of seasonal challenge.
